Carbon Management

Climate change is increasingly recognised as one of the immediate major challenges facing society. Since the Framework Convention on Climate Change was agreed at the Earth Summit in 1990, the scientific evidence that man made greenhouse gas emissions are changing the climate has grown and is now beyond dispute.

The most important greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide (CO2) which is generated by virtually all human activity. CO2 is generated by electricity generation and the use of fossil fuels for industry, manufacturing, heating and for transport.

Understanding your impact is the first step towards minimising your contribution to climate change. A Carbon Footprint is a measure of the total greenhouse gas emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organisation, event or product.
